How do I access the Guidebook and Accreditation Program?

For streaming courses, the Guidebook and Accreditation Program are available as downloadable PDF files inside your student dashboard once you are logged in. You may view, print, or save these files.

For DVD courses, insert Disc D into your computer’s disc drive. Open your computer’s file browser and locate the disc labeled gensci101, bio101, chem101, phy101. From there, you can open, print, or save the files.

If you want to print the guidebook, you can take Disc D to a local print shop for printing and binding, or you can purchase printed copies from our store.

If you experience any issues accessing the files, please contact us.

Does The 101 Series include labs?

Yes. Each course includes labs as part of the Accreditation Program found in each Guidebook.

Most labs use materials that are easy to find at home or at a local store. The labs are designed to be approachable and hands-on, allowing students to engage with science in everyday settings.

Are there answers to the discussion questions?

The Discussion Questions are intentionally open-ended and do not include fixed answers.

They are designed to encourage thinking, discussion, and exploration. Parents and teachers are encouraged to guide students based on their needs and maturity. Researching topics together can often lead to meaningful discussion.

Do these courses count for high school credit?

A standard high school credit typically represents approximately 130 hours of study in a subject.

Each 101 series course includes a Guidebook with Quizzes & Accreditation Program to help families track time, complete assignments, and demonstrate understanding. Families who complete the recommended study hours generally find the content sufficient to award one high school credit. As with all homeschooling, parents retain authority over credit decisions.

Is The 101 Series accredited?

Homeschool programs are not accredited unless they operate under an umbrella school or institution.

The 101 series is designed to help families meet common credit requirements through documented study hours, coursework, and assessments. If you would like to review a sample Accreditation Program, please contact us!

What level of math is required?

The 101 Series limits advanced math so students and parents can focus on understanding scientific concepts.

The most math-intensive topics include basic equation balancing and an introduction to the mole concept in chemistry.

Will this prepare students for academic testing?

When used with the Accreditation Program, The 101 Series provides over 130 hours of course material.

Many families find the content more than sufficient for academic preparation when combined with discussion, labs, and review.

Can The 101 Series be used in a co-op or group setting?

Yes. The Guidebook with Quizzes & Accreditation Program include copyright permissions that allow families and co-ops to make copies for instructional use within a class or group.

If you have questions about larger group use, please contact us.

What are your qualifications for producing these science films?

The 101 Series films are researched and reviewed by technical experts in each field.

Scripts and content are submitted for expert review and revised until the information is scientifically accurate. Reviewers have included biologists, chemists, and physicists with advanced degrees and teaching experience at the high school and university levels.
