Wes Olson became interested in film production in the '70s, when video was still recorded on reel-to-reel tapes. He attended the film school at the University of Southern California with the hope of pursuing film production. However, after one semester, his life took a significant turn when he became a Christian, and God led him on a twelve-year "detour" away from film production.

Since his conversion in 1979, Wes has been an enthusiastic student of the Bible. He was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and later moved to Portland, Oregon, to attend Multnomah School of the Bible, where he graduated in 1984. Wes and Tammy met while attending Multnomah and were married the day after graduation.

In 1991, Wes began making corporate videos in Portland, Oregon. He learned filming, directing, lighting, sound design, and editing, producing videos for local companies such as Boeing and Portland General Electric over the next fifteen years. Corporate clients particularly appreciated his ability to simplify and explain complex ideas in a way that viewers could understand.

It had long been Wes' dream to use his film-making and teaching abilities for the furtherance of God's kingdom. Developing and producing the 101 series has allowed him to accomplish this goal.

Wes and Tammy resided in the Portland, Oregon area until 2000 when they moved to Kamiah, Idaho, which is situated in the beautiful Clearwater River Valley. Here, Wes continues to fulfill his desire to educate people for the glory of God.
